Jack and his Lovey
Jack now goes to sleep every night with his puppy dog blanket, or his lovey. He cuddles up with its puppy head, rolls to his side, and falls fast asleep. It is, potentially, the most adorable thing we have ever seen.

Labor Day in Grand Forks
The whole Schauer clan got together at Rog and Jan's house in Grand Forks, ND. Finally, Jack got to meet all of his cousins from Hettinger! And we got to meet our newest niece, Kortney (after 7 months). It's hard living so far apart, but it makes the get togethers even better.

Jack and Kortney, only 2 months apart!
Kelly, #3 of 5 of the Schauer's, was insistent upon making Jack giggle :)
Kaden, Katy, and Kelly watching a movie with cousin Tyler in the van. Because obviously, watching a movie in the minivan is much better than watching it inside.
Kaden, Katy and Kelly having fun outside at Grandma and Grandpa's.
Jack got to meet his only surviving Great-Grandparent, Grandma Ruth.
Jack and Kortney showing off their tummy time skills.
Big cousin Isaac (13 months) showed Kortney and Jack how to sit up.
First Solids - Rice Cereal!
At 5 months of age, we decided to start feeding Jack rice cereal. The first day, he didn't know what to think of the spoon and the cereal...
He made all kinds of weird faces at us,
he even tried to hide...
but then he wanted to show us what a big boy he was and feed himself!
And at the end of the feeding, he was super happy and couldn't wait for the next time he got to have cereal!
Now, he opens wide when he sees the spoon. All and all, our first adventure with solids is a success!
