Lots of Family Time

Jack has been getting lots of family time. He had a full week with Grandma Rose and Grandpa Pete and a full week with Grandma Jan. He also got to meet his cousins Isaac and Tyler and his Great Aunt Judy.

One of mom's favorite ways to stare at Jack... resting on her legs.

Hanging out with Grandpa Pete.

Hanging out with Grandma Rose.

Looking all cute and ready for bed! At least for a couple hours :)

Hanging out with Mom again.

Taking a snooze in Grandma Jan's arms. Obviously this was one tuckered little boy.

How could you not love that face??

How tiny his hands are.

Meeting Great Aunt Judy for the first time.

Jack's first bath! Here's looking at you, kid. What a coy little man.

Hanging out with mom, dad, and Kedzie.

Baby Jack - Week 2

Everyone is still adjusting to our new life... Jack out of the womb in this strange new world, Kedzie wondering why he gets no attention at all, and Jen and Jon beginning to truly understand what sleep deprivation is :) But despite the adjustments, Jack gets cuter and cuter everyday. See the evidence below!

A visit from Keith and Jenny!

Easter at Auntie Kim and Uncle Dustin's - picture with Grandma and Grandpa Schauer.

Hanging with Daddy while he tried out a goatee... don't know that we will do that again :)

Milk coma.

Jack paused the Twin's game while he took a nap. Didn't want to miss a minute.

Come on, vogue.

Getting sleepy with mom.

Baby Jack - First week at home!

How fast a week flies by with a newborn! We have had lots of visitors from family and friends who were excited to meet our little guy. Jack often has quite a serious face when he is awake, but what a cute face it is! Our friends, Martha and Ryan, just got back from a honeymoon in Spain and brought Jack his first soccer ball! He is certain to take after his daddy and Uncle Adam if he decides its a sport he likes to play. In addition, we tried on his first Twin's hat! Jon and I remember buying that thinking how tiny it was! ... that is until we tried to put it on Jack! Who knew how little a baby would be :)

The next Joe Mauer! (No pressure...)

He's gonna be soccer player!

Hanging with Cousin Isaac... aka the E-trade Baby.

Cuddling with Grandma Jan!

Kedzie already feels protective over his new best friend :)

What are you looking at? I am just hanging out on Linds' lap.

How Daddy likes to squish my cheeks!

Baby Jack Arrives!!!

Jonathan "Jack" Michael Schauer was born on March 29, 2010 at 5:46pm. He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long! He was only one day past his due date. His daddy and I couldn't be more thrilled with what a healthy happy baby he has shown to be in his first week of life. It is truly an amazing thing to look at that little face and realize that you created him. The labor and delivery couldn't have gone better. I am feeling more and more like my old self every day and Jack and I, along with his daddy, are learning about each other more and more.

We spent two days in the hospital with Jack and we were so excited to take him home. We have been home for a week now, and despite the lack of sleep at night, this family is doing great! Jon has really been amazing to watch with Jack. He has immediately embraced being a daddy and loves when Jack is awake so they can interact and play. The summer holds nothing but wonderful things and experiences for us to share with our new baby boy. Especially his first trip to the new Twin's stadium to watch our home town hero - Joe Mauer!

Below are some photos from our stay at the hospital. More to come soon!
